Kilkenny motorists face more delays as new works get underway in city

MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays as more road-works get underway in the city from tomorrow.
Kilkenny County Council confirmed a traffic plan will be put in place on the Ballybought Street/Golf Links Road area starting from tomorrow. The temporary measures are expected to be in place for up to three weeks.
The council said “the initial phase” will consist of a stop-go traffic system that will be in place for “roughly two days”, tomorrow and Friday.
It said the stop-go system will be replaced by a “priority-yield” system, which will remain in place for three days next week, from Wednesday, April 24 until Friday, April 26.
The council added: “After these dates traffic will remain unaffected by the rest of the works. Pedestrian will be diverted across the road at the pedestrian crossing and beyond the site entrance.”
