Kilkenny Rose Helena Hughes living the high life in New York
KILKENNY Rose Helena Hughes has been enjoying the high life in New York.
Helena and her fellow Roses, along with their escorts, were in the Big Apple over the bank holiday weekend to take part in the St Patrick’s celebrations in the city.
The Kilkenny Rose of Tralee Facebook page simply said: “Having the time of her life. Kilkenny Rose 2018 living the dream with her fellow roses and escorts in New York City.”
Meanwhile, the hopefuls who are looking to take Helena’s crown took part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Kilkenny on Sunday alongside the team from MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre, one of the main sponsors of this year’s Kilkenny Rose of Tralee event.
The Roses are now looking ahead to Saturday, April 6, when Helena’s successor will be crowned at a selection event at Kilkenny’s Ormonde Hotel, another key sponsor of this year’s event.
