Kilkenny school to host open evening for prospective students

A KILKENNY secondary school is opening its doors to prospective students about to finish their primary education in the coming year.

Presentation Secondary School in Kilkenny is to welcome fifth and sixth class pupils, their parents and guardians to an open evening at the school.

Teachers, staff and pupils will be on hand for the open evening which includes a tour of the extensive school premises as well as short addresses from Principal Shane Hallahan, the school’s guidance counsellor, Elaine Murphy, Head Girl Rachel McInerney and Deputy Head Girl Rose Cotter.

Presentation Secondary School is hoping to undergo a €16 million redevelopment which will see the current building completely refurbished.

The development plans would see a whole new building constructed, which would cater for science, technology, engineering,  maths, sports and more.  It is hoped this project will be completed by 2022.

The open evening begins at 6pm this Thursday. Application forms for Presentation Secondary School will be available on the night and the closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday, October 7.
