Kilkenny schools can avail of new grant to install air filters
Schools across Kilkenny will be able to avail of grants to improve ventilation and help combat the spread of Covid-10.
The minor works grant announced by Education Minister Norma Foley can also be used for IT equipment and classroom furniture, but they will allow the purchase of HEPA air filters.
Primary and special schools will get €45 million, with secondary schools receiving €17 million.
Education Minister Norma Foley said schools can decide what works are necessary for their needs.
“Small scale ventilation improvements are covered under this minor works scheme,” she said.
“Schools will have the opportunity to decide for themselves what their requirements might be”.
