Kilkenny Vs Waterford: Cody’s Cats favourites to declaw Déise
Kilkenny are being singled out by punters as the most likely side to deny favourites Limerick in the race to crowned this year’s Senior All-Ireland Hurling champions.
The Cats face local rivals Waterford this Saturday for a place in the decider. And Kilkenny’s odds of going one better than last year to land their first All-Ireland title since 2015 have now been cut into 11/4 from 7/2 by BoyleSports.
Brian Cody’s side are being well fancied to end Waterford’s chances this weekend and have been trimmed slightly to get the job done in normal time from 4/6 into 8/13, although a tight affair is expected with their most likely margin of victory being rated between 1-3 points at 7/2.
Waterford’s All-Ireland chances were slashed in half from 12/1 to 6/1 after they put the Munster final defeat behind them with a convincing 3-27 to 3-18 victory over Clare but they remain the outsiders of the four semi-finalists.
Limerick remain hot 11/10 favourites to be crowned All-Ireland champions for the second time in three years.
BoyleSports spokesperson Lawrence Lyons said:”Four years without an All-Ireland title is probably being regarded as a drought in Kilkenny, but the locals are rallying behind them now and at 11/4 from 7/2 we aren’t taking any chances. But we have seen some very tight contests and the betting for the Waterford clash suggests two points could be enough to swing this in either direction.”
