Kilkenny witnesses to fatal M9 crash asked to come forward

GARDAI are asking people from Kilkenny who may have witnessed a fatal crash to contact them.

A man in his 50s was pronounced dead in St Luke’s General Hospital following a crash on the M9 motorway yesterday.

The man was killed after the van he was driving crashed just before Junction 5 at Tinryland, Co Carlow.

The single-vehicle accident happened on the southbound stretch of the motorway at about 3.30pm

The stretch of the motorway was closed for a time yesterday but has since reopened.

Anyone who may have seen the accident is asked to contact the gardai.
