Kilkenny’s Ormonde Street to go one-way as part of €1m revamp
ORMONDE Street in Kilkenny city will adopt a one-way traffic system as part of a new €1 million revamp.
Under the plans there will also be more defined pathways, giving more space for businesses on the street to have outdoor seating.
It is also hoped the new one-way system will help to reduce traffic congestion in the city-centre.
If the project gets the green light motorists will be able to enter Ormonde Street from Patrick Street, but they will no longer be able to exit from Ormonde Street onto Patrick Street.
Members of the public will be able to see the plans for the works when they go on display from Friday, May 31.
If planning permission is granted the works on Ormonde Street will begin next January.
