LATEST: Good jab! Half of adult population now boosted as 7,411 new cases of virus confirmed
A further 7,411 people have contracted Covid-19, according to updated figures released this evening.
The Department of Health also confirmed there are now 390 people being treated in hospital for the virus, the lowest level since October 10. Of these, 98 patients are in ICU.
The latest figures come as Taoiseach Micheál Martin confirmed almost half (49.9%) of the adult population in ireland have now received a booster vaccine.
In a tweet, Mr Martin also praised healthcare staff involved in the vaccination roll-out.
