LATEST: Kilkenny among 416 new cases of virus as five further deaths confirmed
A further five people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 416 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
It brings the overall death toll from the virus to 1,913. There are now 61,456 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases are as follows: 87 are in Dublin, 62 in Cork, 41 in Mayo, 37 in Galway with the remaining 189 cases are spread across 20 other counties, including seven new infections in Kilkenny.
