LATEST: Kilkenny among 522 new Covid-19 cases, nine further deaths confirmed nationally

A further nine people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 552 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.

The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,405. There have now been 222,201 confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).

The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 208 in Dublin, 28 in both Meath and Kildare, 26 in Cork, 19 in Donegal and the remaining 141 cases are spread across 19 other counties, less than five cases were recorded in Kilkenny.
