LATEST: Kilkenny among 539 new cases of virus as 14 further deaths confirmed
A further 14 people have died after contracting the coronavirus as 539 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed this evening.
The overall death toll as a result of the virus has now reached 4,419. It brings to 222,699 the total number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 across the country, according to the latest daily briefing from the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET).
The breakdown of the latest cases is as follows: 245 are in Dublin, 42 in Meath, 29 in Kildare, 26 in Limerick, 24 in Cork with the remaining 173 cases are spread across 19 other counties, including nine further infections in Kilkenny.
