LATEST: Record 23,281 new cases of virus but hospital numbers drop
A further 23,281 people have contracted the coronavirus, the Department of Health confirmed today.
However, there has been a drop in the numbers being treated for the virus in hospital, by 26 to 656. Of these, 85 patients are in ICU, down one on yesterday.
There has been a total of 5,912 recorded Covid-19 deaths since the start of the pandemic, including 22 fatalities that were notified over the past week.
