Lorry driver pleads guilty to illegal immigration in relation to deaths of 39 migrants

The lorry driver accused of the deaths of 39 migrants in the UK, has pleaded guilty to assisting illegal immigration.

Mo Robinson (25) and from county Armagh, made his guilty plea at the Old Bailey in London this morning, via video link from London’s Belmarsh Prison.

He did not enter pleas to 41 other charges, including 39 counts of manslaughter.

A second man, Eamonn Harrison (22) from Mayobridge in county Down, is facing extradition from Ireland to the UK over the deaths, while a third man was arrested on the M40 motorway in the UK last week in relation to the deaths.

UK authorities are also hunting two brothers from county Monaghan they would like to question over the horrific incident and have appealed to them to hand themselves in.
