Burglars break into county Kilkenny farm and make off with valuable machinery

Machinery and livestock feed were stolen during a break-in at a farm in county Kilkenny.

The theft occurred at a farm in Newtown, Kilmacow between 9.30pm yesterday evening and 6.30am this morning.

A local Garda source said the burglars gained access to the milking parlour and a number of farmyard sheds before making their getaway.

They stole a Honda petrol power washer worth €800, four bags of calf nuts, an animal hair clippers and bags of seeds.

Gardai believe the culprits would have needed transport to move the stolen items.

Witnesses or anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time is asked to contact Thomastown Garda Station on 056 750 4150.
