Big changes in the pipeline for popular Kilkenny village pub
A Kilkenny village village is looking to the post-covid future by lodging an application to upgrade its premises.
The owners of the Shirley’s Public House, Goodwinsgarden in Kells have applied to Kilkenny County Council to make some major alterations to the pub.
Shirley’s is seeking permission to convert an existing storage shed into a kitchen and to build an extension to connect the kitchen to the main bar.
The owners are also looking to upgrade the toilets by knocking the current facilities and replacing them with a larger, more accessible block.
The council is expected to rule on the application by the middle of May.
