Man (20s) arrested after woman’s body discovered at house in Kilkenny city
A man has been arrested following the discovery of a woman’s body in Kilkenny city.
The woman’s remains were discovered at a house in the Maudlin Street area of the city at around 6pm yesterday.
A man in his late 20s was arrested a short time later.
He was taken to Kilkenny Garda Station where he was being held for questioning last night.
The woman’s body remains at the scene. Gardai have sealed off the property for technical examination.
A post-mortem examination will also be carried out on the woman’s remains this morning.
