Man (30s) arrested after huge haul of cannabis discovered in growhouse in Kilkenny

A MAN in his 30s is being questioned by Kilkenny gardai after they uncovered a significant amount of drugs from a sophisticated operation.

Gardai discovered up to €20,000 worth of cannabis during a raid of a house in Kilkenny City last night.

As part of yesterday’s Operation Storm, targeting criminal activity in Kilkenny city and county, gardai raided a house in the city at approximately 10pm.

Inside gardai discovered 25 mature cannabis plants and all the equipment needed to grow it in a sophisticated growhouse operation. The haul has an estimated street value of €20,000.

A man was arrested and taken to Kilkenny Garda Station. He is currently being questioned in relation to the find.
