Man with outstanding bench warrant caught red-handed at county Kilkenny checkpoint with fake discs
A man with a bench warrant out for his arrest was caught red-handed by gardai after stopped him driving a vehicle with no insurance, tax or NCT.
The man was arrested after he was stopped by gardai conducting anti-crime patrols and checkpoints in Goresbridge last night.
Upon inspeciting the car, gardai quickly discovered that the displayed discs were “altered” and that the driver had no tax, NCT or insurance.
The man was arrested on foot of the outstanding bench warrant. He is due to appear before Kilkenny District Court.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí in Goresbridge conducting anti crime patrols and checkpoints, stopped this vehicle in Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny last night. With the use of Garda mobility device, it was established that there was no insurance, nct or tax. Discs were altered. And the driver had a bench warrant.
“Fixed charge fine also issued for breach of covid19 travel restrictions. Vehicle seized and driver arrested on the warrant to appear at the District Court.”
