Kilkenny’s €12.7m Lotto winner comes forward

The winner of one of the largest Lotto jackpots in history has made themselves known to the National Lottery, who have confirmed the winning ticket was sold in a shop in Kilkenny City.

The €12,740,043 Lotto jackpot winner has been in contact with Lotto offices who have confirmed that it is indeed the winning ticket.

A spokesperson for the Lotto told KilkennyNow.ie: “We had contact late last night from the winner.

“We had to wait till this morning to verify the ticket and we can confirm it is a winning ticket.

“The shop that sold the ticket has not yet been notified, but staff from the National Lottery offices will make contact later this afternoon,” the spokesperson confirmed.

The spokesperson confirmed the winning ticket was a selection of the lucky winner’s own numbers and not a Quick Pick as indicated by Lotto officials yesterday.

The National Lottery will be releasing more information about the huge win in the coming hours.
