Motorist comes under attack from stone-throwing vandals in Kilkenny city

A terrified motorist was lucky not to crash their car when it was hit by a hail of stones in Kilkenny city.

The incident occurred at around 10.30am in the Hebron area of the city on Monday night.

A local Garda source said the car was trvavelling from the Dublin Road Roundabout in the direction of Hebron Road when the passenger side door was struck with stones, “resulting in a number of dents”.

Later the same night, a Kilkenny City Bus also came under attack from strone throwing vandals, which resulted in two windows of the vehicle being smashed. It was the third attack of its kind on the bus service over the past year.

Potential witnesses of anyone with any information about these incidents is asked Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
