Motorists clocked way over speed limit as Storm Dennis raged

Rogue drivers were clocked driving over the legal speed limit on the M9 Motorway even as Storm Dennis made driving conditions trecherous.

Gardai the Kilkenny-Carlow division reported a number of motorists driving at excessive speeds in spite of the poor conditions.

A local Garda spokesperson urged people to: “Please slow down and expect the unexpected, never hold your mobile while driving, wear your seatbelt, never drive while under the influence of an intoxicant. Lets all make our roads safe.”
