Motorists urged: ‘Don’t double park and block roads at Kilkenny beauty spots’
Gardai have urged visitors to local beauty spots to stop double parking and blocking roads.
It comes as the heatwave continues to drive large numbers of people to popular public areas across Kilkenny.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are also appealing to motorists visiting our beauty spots and rivers to refrain from parking on double yellow lines or blocking roads. Like at The Quay, Graiguenamanagh (entrance to boat club). Gardaí will be issuing fines for illegal parking. Illegal parking is blocking access for emergency services and putting pedestrians in danger. Parking is available at the Fairview Carpark.”
Gardai also urges people to “stay safe” as high temperature warnings remains in place, adding: “Check on vulnerable neighbours, slow down on the roads, keep hydrated as well as leaving out water for pets and animals.”
