New York, New York – Cats and Tipp to resume battle in the Big Apple

BY COLIN BARTLEY

WITH throw-in for the All-Ireland final just 48 hours away, Major League Baseball has announced that Kilkenny and Tipperary will face off in a rematch in November, no matter the result.

The Cats and the premier are to be announced as two of the teams to play in this year’s GAA New York Hurling Classic, this year being held in New York.

Limerick and Wexford make up the foursome that will battle it out at the imposing home of the New York Mets baseball team in Queens.

This will be the fifth time the 11-a-side version of the sport is brought to the US and the first time the games will be in New York, the previous four events being held in Boston.

It’s also a first for the Cats, who have not ventured to the states for the 11-a-side game before. Throw-in at Citi Field is November 16th.
