Now they’re suckin’ diesel! Thief siphons €400 of fuel from bus parked outside Kilkenny hotel

A BUS operator was left fuming after a thief siphoned €400 worth of diesel from a coach that was parked on the grounds of a well-known Kilkenny hotel.

The bizarre theft has fuelled a Garda probe into the incident.

A local garda source confirmed the theft occurred sometime between 5.30pm on Tuesday night and 8am the following morning last week.

Suspicions were aroused when it became apparent that the locking mechanism on the coach’s fuel tank had been pushed in.

There was no other damage to the vehicle, but it was soon discovered all of the diesel had been siphoned from the bus. Kilkenny gardai confirmed €400 worth of fuel was stolen.
