Owner of horse found in neglected state in Kilkenny charged with animal cruelty
A male has been convicted with animal cruelty after this horse was seized by gardai last September.
The suspect appeared before Kilkenny District Court yesterday where he was convicted on two counts of cruelty under Section 12 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013.
The charges came after the horse was found in a neglected state in Kilkenny city on September 3 last year.
Its owner has been banned from owning a horse for five years and received a three month prison sentence, which was suspended for 18 months.
