Plans for giant 100ft telecoms tower on hill overlooking Kilkenny village

Kilkenny County Council has received plans to construct a 33-metre telecommunications tower on public lands overlooking a Kilkenny village.
Cignal Infrastructure Limited submitted plans this week to erect the structure on Coillte lands at Coolehill Upper, Windgap, Co Kilkenny.
Standing at over 100ft, with multi-use tower with delta headframe would carry telecommunications equipment, along with associated equipment and cabinets.
If approved, the tower would be contained within a compound on Coillte land next to the village.
The council is expected to rule on the application early in the New Year.
