Plans to transform old Kilkenny city building into new apartments

A developer is seeking permission to knock a disused building on the edge of Kilkenny city and build an apartment complex in its place.

P.M. Cantwell Ltd. has applied to Kilkenny County Council for permission to build the four apartment development at Lord Edward St in Kilkenny.

As part of the application, the developer is looking to demolish an existing single storey vacant house and build a two-storey apartment block in its place.

Each apartment will consist of two bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, a kitchen and living area, a general toilet and a storage room.

The apartments on the ground floor will have private areas to the front and back of the apartments, while the forst-floor apartments will each have a balcony.

A decision on the application is expected from the local authority by the middle of April.
