Popular Kilkenny B&B unveils plans to build mini-village of holiday homes
A Kilkenny bed & breakfast that has won rave reviews from visitors is now seeking to expand its business by adding holiday homes to its portfolio.
Kate’s Rest B&B in Clomantagh Lower, Barna has applied to Kilkenny County Council requesting permission to build eight two-bedroom holiday homes on lands surrounding the popular guesthouse.
The holiday homes would be constructed in four blocks of two homes each on a 0.5 hectare site off the R693 Urlingford to Freshford Road.
As part of the plans, the developers are seeking to build a laundry room, create on-site car parking outside each block, build a new entrance through existing dwelling driveway, upgrade the foul effluent treatment system and percolation area and connect to a group water scheme.
The local authority is expected to decide on the application by the end of the month.
