REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Carmel Murphy (McCauley Place, Kilkenny) February 12th 2021 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Castlecomer District Hospital. Much loved mother of Kevin and Sarah. She will be deeply missed by her son, daughter, sister Monica, daughter-in-law Maree, son-in-law Brian, grandchildren Charlotte, Jake, Emma, Madenine, Emily, Luke and Clodagh, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

A private funeral will take place due to government advice regarding public gatherings. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral; but due to restrictions cannot, may join the private family Funeral Mass on Tuesday February 16th at 11am on the following link www.stmaryscathedral.ie/web-cam

O’Sullivan (nee Walsh) (34 Larchfield, Kilkenny) 13th February 2021, peacefully, at home, in the loving care of her family, after a short illness, Nancy, beloved wife of Noel and much loved mother of Paul, Nicola and Lee, sadly missed by her loving family, brother Nicky, sister-in-law Daisy, daughters-in-law Gráinne and Clair, son-in-law Jim, grandchildren Patrick, Fintan, Róisín, Jessica, Karl, Adam, Jake and Dáire, nieces Lisa, Angela and Euphrasia, extended family, neighbours and friends.

In accordance with current Government/H.S.E. guidelines and in the interest of Public Health and the safety of our most vulnerable, a private family funeral will take place for Nancy (max of 10 people). Burke, Daniel (Danny) February 11, 2021 (Palmerstown and formerly of Foulkstown, County Kilkenny) late of Ordnance Survey Ireland. Peacefully in St. James’s Hospital after a short illness. Beloved husband of Maura and loving dad to Kieran, Gráinne, Aidan, Imelda, Maeve and Donal. Very sadly missed by his loving family, daughters-in-law Bernice, Helga, and Safia, sons-in-law Gerry and John, grandchildren Daniel, Niamh, Deirdre, James, Sarah, Aoife, Mark, Holly, Ciara, Charley, Olivia, Andrew, Lorraine, Eamon and Caroline, sisters Myra, Nell, Stella and Dolie, brothers Billy and Din, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Special thoughts also at this time for Danny’s predeceased parents, Michael and Mary, brothers Mickey, Neddy and Ramie and sister Josie.

Thomas (Tom) CASSIN 
The Orchard, Slieverue, Kilkenny/Waterford City

Thomas (Tom) Cassin. The Orchard, Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny, late of St. Alphonsus Road and Foyle Avenue, Avondale, Waterford who died on Thursday, 11th February 2021 peacefully, at University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by his wife Nancy (nee Grant), sons Pat and Michael. Tom will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Ritchie, nieces Annemarie, Edel and Bernadette (Cuddy), nephews Gerard and Seamus (Cuddy), grand nieces, grand nephews extended family, neighbours and friends.

Tom’s removal will take place from Power’s Funeral Home, Ferrybank, on Saturday, 13th February, to the Church of the Assumption, Slieverue, arriving for Requiem Mass at 3pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Donald (Don) DAWS
Clossgregg, Thomastown

The death has taken place of Donald John Daws (Don) Clossgregg House, Clossgregg, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Acton, London, at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, 10th February 2021.

Sadly missed by his wife Breda, son Patrick, daughter Christine, brother Duncan, grandchildren Rupert and Tilly, sister in law Wendy, Many cousins, nieces and nephews, many friends and good neighbours.

Burial and a celebration of Don’s life will take place at 12 noon on Monday, 15th February, in St Mary’s New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny.

A man of many hobbies, photography, working on cars, music, his e-bike. Always enjoyed a good laugh and will be missed by those who knew him.

Antoinette Kavanagh (nee Laracy) Sion Hill House, Ferrybank, Waterford, who died on Friday, 12th February 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by her sister Nuala (Cummins). Antoinette will be sadly missed by her loving husband George, daughters Deirdre and Fiona, sons-in-law James and Ray, granddaughter Ella, brother Pat, sister Ina (O’Shea), best friend Maria (Griffin), the Fitzgerald family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Antoinette’s removal will take place from her home on Sunday, 14th February, to the Sacred Heart Church, Ferrybank, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11.30am followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
