REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Mary O’BEIRNE (née Killian)
Cedarwood Drive, Kilkenny City/Inistioge

O’Beirne, Mary (nee Killian) (2 Cedarwood Drive, Loughboy, Kilkenny and formerly of Ballyshane, Inistioge) 11th August 2021, peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of the Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team, after a long illness borne with great strength and dignity. Predeceased by her loving husband Paul, mother Biddy and father Gus, sisters Nellie and Breda and grandniece Natasha, devoted mother of Niamh and Alan. She will be sadly missed by her daughter and son, sister Kathleen, brother Georgie, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, neighbours and her many friends.

In accordance with current guidelines a private funeral for family and close friends will take place. Requiem Mass for Mary will be celebrated on Saturday morning (14th August) at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church, Foulkstown (max 50 people). Funeral afterwards to Mount Jerome Crematorium, Dublin for a Committal Service at 1.45pm, which may be viewed online at https://vimeo.com/event/139693

There will be an opportunity for the community to support the family and remember Mary by being present, socially distanced, on Saturday morning, when Mary’s funeral cortege will pause at her home at 10.40am approx, en route to the church.

Anne MASSEY (née Cantwell)
McDonagh Street, Kilkenny City

Anne Massey (née Cantwell) (McDonagh St., Kilkenny and late of Clogh) August 10th 2021 (peacefully) in her 97th year, at Ryevale Nursing Home, Leixlip, Co. Kildare. Predeceased by her loving husband Tom, sons Michael and Peter and her infant daughter Margaret. Beloved mother of Margaret, Mary, Theresa, Seamus and Tom. She will be sadly missed by her sister Kitty, sons-in-law John and Tom, daughters-in-law Felicity, Mary and Jean, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends Dolores and Sr. Concepta and all her neighbours.

Due to current restrictions a private Requiem Mass for Anne will be celebrated at 11a.m on Thursday (Aug. 12th) in St. Canice’s Church, Kilkenny (max. 50 people in the Church) followed by interment in Foulkstown Cemetery. House private please.

Patrick (Pat) TYNAN 
Dublin/Kilkenny

Tynan, Patrick (Pat), August 9th 2021, Medan, Indonesia and formerly of Dublin and Kilkenny, following a short illness. Predeceased by his sister Margaret. Beloved husband of Yuli and father of David, Fergal and Kathy. Sadly missed by his wife, sons, daughter, sister Vera, brothers Eamonn, John and Jim, also by May, five grandchildren, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family and friends in Ireland and Indonesia.

A private family funeral will take place this week in Medan, but due to current covid restrictions, a memorial service in Ireland will be held at a later date.

Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to the current restrictions cannot, please leave a personal message for the family in the condolences section here.
