WEATHER ALERT: Yellow weather warning issued for Kilkenny

A Status Yellow Weather Warning has been issued for Kilkenny with heavy rains and thunderstorms set to batter the county for the remainder of today and into Thursday.
Met Éireann issued the warning this afternoon and warned of localised flooding caused by the expected heavy rains.
The warning is for the whole island of Ireland excluding county Fermanagh and will last until late tomorrow morning.
A spokesperson for the national weather forecaster said: “Widespread showers and thunderstorms, with longer spells of rain at times.
“Potential for localised flooding, especially in the northwest,” the spokesperson concluded.
The warning is in effect now and will remain in place until 7am tomorrow morning.
