REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Mary CURRAN (née Somers)
Pococke Lower, Kilkenny City/ Ballingarry (SR), Tipperar

Curran (nee Somers) (Pococke Lower, Johnswell Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Coon and Ballingarry, Co. Tipperary) 15th February 2022, peacefully, in the wonderful care of the staff at Drakelands House Nursing Home, Mary, predeceased by her husband James Curran (late of Carlow) and her former husband Thomas Purcell (late of Ballingarry), sadly missed by her loving sister Rita (Lang), nephew Padraic, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Requiem Mass for Mary will be celebrated on Thursday (17th Feb) at 10.30am in St. John’s Church, Kilkenny. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran’s Cemetery.

Alice MURPHY (née Ryan)
Hugginstown

Alice Murphy, (nee Ryan), Lismatigue, Hugginstown, Co. Kilkenny.

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre, on Monday, 14th February 2022.

Predeceased by her husband Michael, her daughter Margaret and her sister Maura. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sorrowing family, sons Tommy, Matty and Nicky, daughters-in-law Mary, Pauline and Donna, son-in-law William, her 10 grandchildren, nephew Richard, brother-in-law Paddy, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan on Wednesday, 16th February from 6pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 8pm. Funeral arriving to The Most Holy Trinity Church, Hugginstown, on Thursday morning for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Hugginstown.

Maura Roche MINOGUE (née Roche)
9 Newtown Tce, Thomastown

The death has taken place of Maura Roche Minogue, 9 Newtown Tce, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny and formerly of Clossgregg, Thomastown, unexpectedly, at her home, 13th February 2022. Predeceased by her parents Patsy and Lyla and her brother Pat. Sadly missed by her husband Bernard, daughters Tina and Jenni, sister in law, brothers in law, aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and good neighbours.

Reposing at Meyler’s family room, the Quay, Thomastown, from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday. Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am in The Church of the Assumption Thomastown, followed by burial in St Mary’s New Cemetery, Thomastown.
