REST IN PEACE: Kilkenny Death Notices

Margaret KAVANAGH (nee Brennan)
Gowran Road, Paulstown, Kilkenny/Carlow

The death has occured of Margaret Kavanagh (née Brennan), Gowran Road, Paulstown, Co. Kilkenny on September 18th 2024. Margaret (Peg) died peacefully surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of Borris Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband Andrew (Andy), mother, father, brothers, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and grandson.

Margaret will be dearly missed by her loving sons Padraig and John, daughter Sheila, daughters-in-law, son-in-law,her much loved grandchildren, brothers Des, Liam and Sean, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Somers Funeral Home Bagenalstown (R21 DY66) on Friday 20th September from 3.pm to 8.pm, with Vigil Prayers at 7.pm.

Removal to the Church of the Assumption Paulstown on Saturday 21st September for Requiem Mass at 11.am. Burial afterwards in the Holy Family Cemetery.

The family would like to sincerely thank the Staff of Borris Lodge Nursing Home for the wonderful care that Margaret received there.

On 19 September 2024, peacefully in the diligent and dignified care of the Palliative Care team in Ardkeen Hospital, Waterford.

Beloved wife of Ronan Tierney and cherished mother of Imogen, Hugo and Ingrid. Loving daughter of the late Jimmy and Ann Mahon, The Rower.

Very sadly missed by brothers Jim, Maurice and Joe, her sister Nicola, sisters-in-law Toñi, Catherine, Fiona, Deirdre, Patricia and Columba, brothers-in-law Kris, Donagh, William and Ciaran, her uncle Eamonn, his wife Carmel and daughter Fionnuala and all her extended family, friends
and colleagues at HSE Public Health Kilkenny.

Reposing at her home in Knockeen (R95 DE29) from 2pm to 8pm on Saturday 21st September. House private at all other times please.

Removal from Knockeen on Sunday the 22nd at 10.15am, walking if weather permits, arriving for Requiem Mass at 11 o’clock in Duiske Abbey, Graignamanagh followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Martin (MD) MULLINS 
Church Crescent, Athy, Kildare/Paulstown, Kilkenny

Martin (MD) Mullins (Originally of Ballygurteen, Paulstown, Co. Kilkenny.) Most recent of Church Crescent, Church Road, Athy on September 18th, peacefully in the loving and tender care of the staff of Cloverlodge Nursing Home and in the presence of his loving wife Frances, after an illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his parents and his sister Mary. Sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Frances, his daughters Lorna and Karen and his son John, his 5 grandchildren, Hannah, George, Paul, Daniel & Aoife, his daughter in law Sinead, son in law Rory, his brother Pat, sisters, Eilish, Winnie & Helen, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Martin will repose at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Chapel Hill, Mt. Hawkins, Athy (R14 NX80) on Friday, 20th September 2024, from 6pm until the conclusion of Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Saturday afternoon at 1.45pm to arrive at St. Michael’s Parish Church, Athy for Requiem Mass at 2pm, followed by burial in Colestown Cemetery, Castledermot.

House private please.

Sheila WILSON (nee Shiel)

Clogh, Castlecomer, County Kilkenny.
Passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Bridie and husband Timmy.

Loved forever by her sons John, Patsy, Tim, Tommy and Donal, her adored grandchildren, great grandchild, daughters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at the Residence of her son Tommy, (Loon, Castlecomer R95 HH7X) on Friday (20th September) from 2pm, with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7.30pm

Removal from her home on Saturday, arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Clogh for Requiem Mass at 1.30pm
