Revealed – all 44 companies shortlisted for 2018 Kilkenny Business Awards

FORTY-FOUR local companies of all sizes, from all walks of business life and representing every corner of the city and county, have been shortlisted for the prestigious 2018 Kilkenny Business Awards.

Judges had a tough task whittling down the shortlisted companies (all listed below across 19 separate categories) from the 400-plus businesses who were nominated for this year’s awards.

This year marks a highly significant year for Kilkenny Chamber of Commerce as the organisation celebrates 70 years of “being in business, for businesses”.

In a statement to KilkennyNow.ie, Kilkenny Chamber said the annual awards ceremony is an opportunity “to acknowledge and reward the outstanding work of businesses who are enhancing the business landscape of Kilkenny, both at home and abroad”.

Kilkenny Chamber CEO John Hurley said he was “delighted that so many diverse local businesses have engaged with the Kilkenny Business Awards this year”.

Mr Hurley (pictured above with Margaret Clancy of TransferMate, 2017 overall business award winners, Chamber President Marion Acreman and Cathal Smith of State Street) added: “Once again, we are equally delighted to have the support of State Street as our main sponsors. State Street is renowned across the globe as a leader in business, spotting trends and fostering innovation. Likewise, the Kilkenny Business Awards sets out to foster entrepreneurship and innovation in Kilkenny.”

Kilkenny Chamber President Marion Acreman added: “The recipients for 2018 are both richly deserving of this award. We owe a huge debt of gratitude for their work in making Kilkenny their business base and home for many years. This in turn has showcased our city and county as an alluring location to do business.”

Up to 500 people representing every sector of business life from across Kilkenny city and county will attend the 2018 Kilkenny Business Awards at the Lyrath Estate Hotel on November 17.

The glittering black tie gala event will be hosted by RTE’s Mary Kennedy. The chosen charity for this year’s event is The Good Shepard Centre.

*Tickets are still available for the black-tie gala. They are priced between €85 for Chamber members and €95.00 for non-members. Ticket prices include a four-course dinner, drinks reception, entertainment, spot-prizes and the ‘OH WOW’ 360 Video Booth. Visit www.kilkennychamber.ie or call 056 7752767 to purchase.
