Thieves break-into Kilkenny premises and make off with the safe in brazen pre-Christmas burglary
Burglars broke-into a Kilkenny city business before they thrashed the premises and made off with the safe.
The break-in occured at a business in Smithlands, Loughboy at around around 1.40am on Monday.
The burglars forced open the front door with a crowbar and, once inside, they ransacked the shop area.
They then located the safe before fleeing the scene.
Gardai are investigating the break-in. They have urged potential eyewitnesses or anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area at the time to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 5000.
