Scene where body of man (40s) discovered in Kilkenny remains closed
The scene of the discovery of a body in Kilkenny remains closed off this afternoon and is being preserved for an examination by the state pathologist.
Gardai remain at the apartment in the Hawthorne Walk area of Pairc na Gowan on the Waterford Road in Kilkenny city where the body of a man in his 40s was discovered at 7pm last night.
Gardai have launched an investigation into the discovery which they are describing as “suspicious”.
The State Pathologist’s office has been notified and is expected to arrive this afternoon.
A local Garda spokesperson said: “A post- mortem examination will take place today and the course of the investigation into this death will be determined by the outcome of that post-mortem.”
