School in Kilkenny village to build new classroom
A county Kilkenny primary school is looking to build a much-needed extension which would create a new classroom for the ever growing student numbers.
Fr Dan Cavanagh, Chairperson of Board of Management of Listerlin National School applied to Kilkenny County Council for permission to build an extension which will include a new classroom, new toilets and a new corridor linking the extension to the existing building.
The mixed-gender school close to Tullogher caters for around 135 students and currently has four classrooms.
A decision on the application is expected in early June.
