Second person dies from COVID-19 in Ireland as new cases rise by 39
A second person in Ireland has died from COVID-19 and 39 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed, the Department of Health said this evening.
There are now 129 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland, while 34 people have tested positive in Northern Ireland.
The US also announced today that it is extending its travel ban to include Ireland and the UK – the two were countries originally exempted from his 30-day ban on travellers from 26 European countries that took effect at midnight on Friday.
