‘Significant’ amount of property stolen in county Kilkenny burglary

A “significant” amount of property was stolen during a break-in locally, gardai have confirmed.

The break-in occurred at a property located on the Callan Road between Tinnypark Cross and Cuffesgrange between 5pm and 8pm on Friday.

Gardai have made a public appeal for potential witnesses “who may have seen persons being dropped off by a car, or picked up, or any vehicle parked in a suspicious manner”.

A local Garda spokesperson said the vehicle is linked to a burglary in the area in which “a significant amount of property was taken”.

They have also appealed to anyone who was travelling on the Dunningstown Road near Hillcrest earlier in the evening who may have seen anything suspicious to come forward in relation to an earlier burglary.

“All information will be gratefully accepted,” the Garda spokesperson added.
