Sláinte! Local business puts ancient Kilkenny craft back on map
A Kilkenny brewery is putting itself on the map in an effort to promote Irish craft beer producers.
Costello’s Brewing Company has been included in a new online beer map promoting Ireland’s leading independent breweries.
The map has been made to highlight the abundance of quality, independent craft breweries that are located throughout the country and to generate public interest in beer provenance, by linking craft breweries to specific destinations.
Costello’s Brewing Company was established in 2014. Founded by Gerald Costello, came as a result of his belief that the city needed to be self-sufficient in its beer supply.
The brewery possesses an ”only natural’ approach to brewing, which along with its local influence has resulted in producing award winning beers that are available exclusively in on-trade outlets throughout Kilkenny.
Founder Gerald Costello said: “We brew beers inspired by our local community and collaborate with local food producers in many ways including incorporating their ingredients into beers and our beers in their products.
“Our brand philosophy is ‘We’re not local anywhere else, only here,‘” Gerard added.
The map, which currently has 60 breweries listed, is available to view at irishbeer.ie.
