Talented Kilkenny woman makes big splash in Big Apple

A young Kilkenny woman has been named ‘Tech Evangelist of the Year’ at the annual Women in IT Summit awards in New York announced recently.

Rebecca Kelly, who is originally from Castlecomer won the award at a virtual ceremony held last Thursday night in the Big Apple.

The awards celebrate the achievements of women in the technology sector and recognise organisations who are championing women in technology.

Ms Kelly works for Kx, a division of First Derivatives, an IT consultancy company based in Newry, county Down, and a Northern Irish business success story.

A spokesperson for First Derivatives said: “Since joining in 2013 Rebecca has proven pivotal in advancing the growth of Kx technology within new markets.

“Within her role, Rebecca is responsible for actively promoting Kx Technology both with our existing clients and externally to new prospects and the wider tech community,” they concluded.
