Popular Kilkenny beer garden gets a new lease of life
A popular Kilkenny gastropub has been told it can keep one of the city’s best outdoors socialising spaces.
O’Sullivan’s Taproom on John Street has been granted a five-year planning extension for its hugely popular beer garden.
Kilkenny County Council approved the application which creates a safe area for customers, especially in post-pandemic times, as well as creating a unique festival-like atmosphere.
The Taproom’s popular beer garden, which was converted from a garden centre and is located within the John Street Architectural Conservation Area, is a protected structure.
With permission granted the Taproom can continue to offer customers the comforts of one of their 18 enclosed pods within the bars outdoor area.
