Teenager killed in county Kilkenny collision, road closed off overnight
A teenager was kilkenny when the car he was travelling in crashed in county Kilkenny last night.
The tragedy occurred at Dowling in Piltown shortly after 8pm.
Gardai confirmed the one of the passengers in the car, a male teenager, was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
His body was later taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination
Two other male occupants in the car, also male, were taken to University Hospital Waterford where they are currently receiving treatment.
The road remained closed overnight with local diversions put in place. A technical examination of the scene by Forensic Collision Investigators is due to take place this morning.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them
