10 motorists clocked driving at dangerous speeds through Kilkenny village
Ten speeding motorists will be hit with fines after they were clocked driving way over the limit through a Kilkenny village.
The motorists were detected driving at speeds between 75kmph and and 91kmph in a 50kmph zone by members of the Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit in Paulstown earlier this week.
Gardai confirmed fixed charge penalties have been issued to each of the motorists.
A local Garda spokesperson urged motorists to “please slow down” and “obey speed limits”, especially when passing cyclists, pedestrians and children. The spokesperson said: “This is 50 kph zone and the village loop is popular for pedestrians and cyclists, especially with current restrictions.”
