Thank you and goodbye – Kilkenny gets chance to say fond farewell to Gay Byrne

A book of condolence will open for Gay Byrne in Kilkenny’s Town Hall today.

The father of Irish broadcasting passed away at the age of 85 following a long battle with cancer

The public of Kilkenny will be given their chance to pay their respects to the much loved RTÉ broadcaster after the Cathaoirleach of  Kilkenny County Council, Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere and Mayor of Kilkenny, Martin Brett opened a book of condolences on behalf of the people in the county.

The book will be available to sign in the forecourt of the Town Hall on from High Street from 11.30am to 5pm every day up until this coming Friday.
