Man (29) to appear in court over spate of county Kilkenny burglaries
A 29-year-old Kilkenny man is due to appear in court today in relation to a spate of break-ins committed around the county last week.
The man was arrested at his home in Kilkenny city centre at 5.20pm yesterday.
He was brought to Kilkenny Garda Station for questioning and subsequently charged.
He is due to appear in Kilkenny District Court this afternoon.
He faces nine charges, two for theft, one for handling stolen goods, two for being in possession of articles with intent to commit a crime, and three for trespassing.
Some of these charges are in relation to a burglary spree that happened in Ballyfoyle last Wednesday evening when four houses were broken into in a short space of time.
There were a further seven burglaries around the county last week which occurred near Callan, Freshford and Castlecomer.
Cash, jewelery, game consoles and sports equipment were among the item stolen.
Garda are still investigating all 11 incidents.
