Thieves break into home in heart of Kilkenny city, ransack bedrooms and make off with stash of cash

Thieves who broke into a home in the heart of Kilkenny city ransacked bedrooms before making off with a quantity of cash.

The break-in occurred at a property in the New Building Lane area of the city sometime between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Wednesday.

A local Garda spokesperson said it is not known how the thieves gained entry to the house.

The spokesperson confirmed: “Two upstairs bedrooms were found to be ransacked and a sum of cash was taken.”
