Thousands affected by power cuts across Kilkenny city and county
Thosuands of people in Kilkenny are without power this morning after a number of faults were discovered in the network earlier today.
Some 1,378 ESB households and businesses served by the MacDonagh Junction station in the city have been without power since early this morning.
ESB Networks are currently working on the problem and expect power to be restored to customers in the city by 2pm.
Meanwhile, a further 118 homes and businesses in Ballyhale – and another 56 in Rosehill on the outskirts of Kilkenny city – also are currently without power.
Both locations are undergoing planned interruptions. ESB Networks said it hopes to have power restored in Ballyhale at 2pm and in Rosehill by 4.30pm.
