UPDATE: Man arrested over suspicious package that shut down Kilkenny city centre
KILKENNY gardai have arrested a man in connection with the discovery of a suspicious package which resulted in High Street being cordoned off this morning.
A Garda source told KilkennyNow.ie the man is “assisting gardai with their inquiries”.
High Street remains closed off to vehicular and pedestrian traffic following the incident.
Gardaí shut down the busy city-centre street early this morning after the package was discovered in the Butterslip.
