UPDATE: Woman injured in crash outside Kilkenny city remains in ‘critical condition’
A WOMAN who was injured in a serious road collision outside Kilkenny city remains in a critical condition in hospital.
The woman, who is in her 60s, was initially taken to St Luke’s General Hospital along with two others after the car they were traveling in collided with a tractor near Cuffesgrange shortly before 9pm last night.
However she was transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin overnight where she has been treated for serious head injuries.
Sources tonight said she remains in critical condition.
A section of the Kilkenny to Clonmel road, between Ballymack and Lime Tree crossroads, that was temporarily closed off for traffic for a forensic investigation reopened earlier today.
Gardai have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to contact Kilkenny Garda Station on 056 777 500.
